The online retailer Amazon has decided to open its first physical store in Seattle this week. Amazon books opened its doors to a "bricks and mortar shop" after 20 years as the world's biggest online seller.

This may be seen as a radical move by the online retailer - which has almost killed the traditional retail bookshop by undercutting prices online. The Amazon Books store will sell the most popular titles based on sales and reviews from its online store.

Will this move see other online retailers move back towards taking leases of retail stores in order to attract more customers? Good news for landlords heralding the return of the physical shop.
